I am in the Middle of a Tax Audit, and Now the IRS Wants Me to Give Them More Time by Extending the Statute of Limitations. Should I Agree to Do So?

This is a very difficult question, and the answer will vary depending upon the exact circumstances.  Nevertheless, you should understand that you have no legal obligation to do so, and in many cases it will not be to your advantage.  It is also possible to negotiate the nature of the extension, both as to length and scope.
