Strafford Webinar:

The Brager Tax Law Group is offering eight free registrations and 50% off to all other interested registrants for Strafford's webinar, "Navigating the IRS Penalty Abatement Procedures for Foreign Information Reporting Noncompliance" scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 10:00-11:30 a.m. PT. The webinar will cover:

  1.  What foreign reporting forms are subject to    foreign tax reporting penalties?
  2. What are the penalty structures for non-willful, willful and willful failure when other violations are in place?
  3. What are the standards for "reasonable cause" abatement?
  4. What is the IRS penalty abatement decision tree model, and how does it apply to requests to abate foreign tax penalties?

The IRS has been increasing its attention and resources to international and transnational tax compliance reporting over the past several years. Tax reporting of international accounts and activities can be complex, and failure to file foreign tax informational forms typically trigger more severe penalties than failure to file most required domestic tax informational forms.

Dennis and the other panelists will provide tax advisors with a detailed discussion of best practices for requesting abatements of IRS penalties due to failure to properly file required international information forms such as the FBAR, Form 8938, and Forms 5471 and 5472. The panel will discuss the current trends in IRS abatement and will provide guidance on drafting abatement requests.

To register for the free tickets, please email Jovana at jsmolovic@bragertaxlaw.com by no later than Monday, August 24th.
